Much of the research literature around assessment points out the importance of feedback to students as part of the learning process. It is formative assessment specifically intended to to improve and accelerate learning.

Regular feedback is a means to guide the learners by providing them with an awarenss of their progress and achievement. It promotes motivation and helps to improve learning skills also in other fields.
